Childhood Memories - Giffords Circus War and Peace

The Giffords Circus magic worked the epic Russian Novel War and Peace into a fun family show for all ages in Tackley this weekend!
The acts - new and old - amaze not only with their circus skills but in their versitility, everybody gets involved in the storytelling aspect of a Giffords performance, musicians sing, dance and act as well as play the toe tapping, hand clapping music!

If you need inspiration to read War and Peace then this is it! Daring and beauty abound, the costumes are fabulous and the silks artiste creates a dreamy scene that takes your breath away!

Our children loved the story that is woven into the performance, each act thrills from the jugglers Bibi and Bichu (who nearly set fire to the floor!) who juggle with a sense of humour to Tweedy the clown who manages to get into everything!

At the end of each performance the children are invited down to the ring to sing and dance with the cast - it's a magical memory, just what a childhood should be made from! Just make sure you do a headcount in the car going home - some of your family (young or old) may be tempted to runaway with the circus!
We are love keeping our eye out for circus themed toys, be inspired and create your own circus with this Djeco stickers set £3.22 at http://www.ptolemytoys.co.uk/

Children's Entertainment - Giffords Circus

Ptolemy Toys is off to Giffords Circus today and we are sooo excited! This is probably our favourite annual treat and this year tweedy the clown is back so we are overjoyed! Lots has already been written about Giffords and it's growing in popularity each year tickets sell out faster and faster!

There are lots of reasons it's popular, it's good old traditional entertainment that enthrals every generation from the little ones sitting on laps to grannies who remember circus entertainment at its best from their childhood. We have been going since our children were 3 and today we'll have children from 6 to 13 as well as grandparents whose age we'd better not disclose!

Intimate and atmospheric the Gifford's circus ring is a magical place, a place of dreams and story telling - each year there is a theme - this year it's War and Peace (no we haven't read it!) that pulls all the amazing circus acts together with a brilliant musical score that keeps your feet tapping throughout!

From experience we know we'll be humming the tunes and rhythms of today's performance for weeks to come - and talking about our favourite acts! Like all good family entertainment it sparks conversation, pulls parents back to the world of imaginative story telling and creation!

We'll tell you all about it but if you want to find out more visit www.giffordscircus.com/
